Innocent Heart, Demonic Blood - Chapter 7

Kurt sighed and turned forward, readying himself for whatever horrors were awaiting them. But he found nothing. No, when the older hunter turned forward, all he saw was the path they were traveling and a butterfly fluttering in the breeze. Kurt blinked a few times before inhaling in irritation and glaring angrily back at the teenage hunter. "What?! What is it?" He muttered coldly. Julian frowned. "How can you not see it?! It's right there!" He hissed, pointing right at..The butterfly..

Kurt stared at the boy in disbelief before glancing at the insect for a moment. He then took a look at Julian again before proceeding to smack him over the back of the head, sea-blue eyes narrowed dangerously. "Ouch!" Julian yelped, placing a hand on the back of his head. He frowned up at Kurt as his shades were knocked of his head. "What was that for?!" He grumbled, narrowing his own blue-green eyes a bit. "You're pathetic.." Kurt replied simply before he walked off.

Julian stared after the older hunter, pouting slightly, before narrowing his eyes and scowling a bit. How dare he?! I'm the one who hired that idiot in the first place..He can't treat me like this.. The teenager thought glumly as he crouched down and picked his shades up. With a sigh, he placed his glasses back over his blue-green eyes and stood back up. Julian took a quick look around and frowned a bit. Where could Chidori have gone? It's not like this part of the forest was that big--..Well, It was..But there was no way the vampire could have escaped so quickly, right?

Julian growled a bit. Of course he could. Chidori had always been one step ahead.

Kurt stopped a little bit ahead. He sighed when he realized Julian hadn't been following him. Oh well, whatever..The older hunter glanced around a bit before resting his hand on the holster of his pistol. "Chidori.." He smirked, moving his sea-blue gaze to the trees above. "Your tricks are old..You see, we humans catch on eventually..Especially if you keep re-using the same ones over and over. " The hunter explained in a bored monotone. The vampire was perched on a tree branch, one leg hanging limply and the other up to his chest. He was sitting with his back to the trunk with his hands resting comfortably behind his head.

Chidori moved his red gaze to the hunter below and rolled said eyes slightly. "Who says I was planning on attacking you?" He grinned, raising an eyebrow. Kurt tilted his head a bit before raising his own eyebrow in response. "Oh? So you you're just sitting up there to sit up there?" He questioned, his voice dripping with a bit of sarcasm. The hunter let a frown fall across his face before he narrowed his eyes. "You know, you jerk, I'm not a kid anymore. I won't fall prey to you like I did back then." The vampire blinked before tilting his head.

"I'm afraid I have not the slightest idea what you're going on about.." He responded bluntly. Before Kurt could reply, a dagger whizzed past the side of his head and embedded itself in the bark of the tree next to Chidori's head. The older hunter blinked before glancing over his shoulder. "You're such a slowpoke.." He muttered with a shake of his head. Julian pushed his way through the bushes, twirling another dagger between his fingers. He smirked a bit and ignored Kurt as he glared up at the vampire in the tree. "Darn, I missed." He sighed.

Chidori growled a bit as he eyed the dagger. He moved his hand from behind his head and yanked the knife from out of the bark and ran his finger along the flat side of the blade. "Fine then..If you two brats don't plan on leaving me alone.." He began, moving his red glare back down to the two hunters. "Then I'll make your deaths as painful as I can manage." He flashed them a grin, his fangs glinting in the evening light that glistened through the treetop, before dropping down to the forest floor below.
